The school draws on more than 50 years of history serving the community, providing academically excellent education in an atmosphere that fosters the development of faith, values, and character.
Providence is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the Association of Christian Schools International, and is a member of the College Board, Christian Schools International, and the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF).

Our faculty members have been carefully recruited and selected on the basis of personal character and Christian commitment, and on their proven ability to be inspiring, challenging, and motivating and passion for their discipline as well as the students they teach. They have joined Providence because they are committed to our distinctive mission and to developing a love for learning in their students that will carry them through their lifetime. They understand their significant responsibility to be role models and mentors, and they develop strong bonds with students in and out of the classroom.
Providence is comprised of students from as far north as Santa Ynez and as far south as Ventura and Camarillo. Our school is a welcoming, close-knit community that feels like a home away from home. Demographically, our students represent more than 20 churches and a variety of denominations. Additionally, Providence students represent an important mix of cultural backgrounds, so essential in developing an understanding of all ethnic, economic, and religious backgrounds.
While we teach from a Christian worldview and seek to instill a deep knowledge of God’s love, Providence is open and welcoming to students regardless of their religious affiliation. The school is comprised of families who desire a common set of character traits to be developed in their children: love, grace, integrity, humility, compassion for others, service, and a passion for truth, beauty, and excellence.
Providence students are committed to and excited about learning in a challenging academic environment that fosters academic, athletic, and artistic excellence. Providence students come to learn, to grow, to develop their intellect and character, and to earn acceptance into the nation’s finest colleges and universities.
TUITION AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Providence is an independent school, meaning it is governed by a board of directors with a vision for superior education. We do not accept any government support nor are we supported by one single church or denomination. We charge tuition to cover the expenses of operating a school. It is our goal that all families desiring a Providence education will have one. Therefore, we have developed a need-based tuition assistance and scholarship program to benefit qualified families.
We encourage you to allow the Tuition Assistance Office to work with you to make this distinctive educational opportunity and very unique community in Santa Barbara available to your family. We look forward to sharing the experiences of students whose families thought they could never provide a Providence education for their children, and now they have graduated and are in college!
As a Christian school devoted to excellence, Providence is committed to engaging the mind and shaping the hearts of our students, both in and out of the classroom. We offer a competitive athletics program, extensive visual and performing arts, numerous outdoor education adventures, intentional opportunities for spiritual growth, and comprehensive college counseling.
