Welcome from the Heads of School

Mr. Christopher Rutz

Chris Rutz
Head of Lower School

On behalf of the Providence community, it is our pleasure to introduce you to this extraordinary school.

Providence operates under the guidance of four core values:  we are a preparatory school, we are Christian, we respect our heritage, and we care about strong character. You will learn more about our mission and how these core values shape our school in the pages of this website.

The dreams we have for our children are based on hopes for a lifetime of success and happiness. At Providence, we believe the foundation of those dreams is built on engaging young minds with a rich academic program and shaping tender hearts with an emphasis on spiritual and character development. Our students learn through a program that values and develops critical thinking, innovation, creativity, and foundational skills to prepare them for life after graduation.

We help our students develop Christian values by weaving biblical principles and a Christian worldview into every component of our program, from elementary school through high school. We guide and challenge young people in their understanding of who God is, encourage them in their faith in Jesus Christ, teach them how to recognize truth wherever it may be found, and give them the tools with which to communicate their ideas in written and spoken word. Students graduate with a genuine understanding of the world God created and their place in it. They leave Providence ready to positively impact their college, their workplace, their community, and someday, their own families.

Providence students appreciate their heritage and their future role as positive, responsible contributors to society. This process begins with a clear understanding of the philosophies that motivated America’s founders. Providence graduates know the longings, vision, and goals of those who wrote the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, and they know how to interact respectfully with other cultures.

Integral to this outstanding education is the community in which it occurs. Our stellar faculty members hold a genuine interest and care for their students, creating a nurturing environment of truth, accountability, and much grace. At Providence, students and teachers live “life together” for as many as thirteen years; they naturally enter into conversations while playing four square during recess, sharing a lunch at the local taco stand, or sitting next to each other at a Saturday night basketball game. Providence is a school where lifelong friendships are developed and where alumni stay connected long after graduation.

Welcome to Providence! We hope you will join our community and find your place in our wonderful story. And we pray that God will bless you as you seek to make the best decision for your child’s future.
