Providence’s comprehensive science program provides the necessary background and skills from which students can become scientifically literate in order to make responsible decisions as involved citizens and future leaders. We teach students through observation and inquiry about the natural systems of God’s created order. In addition, students develop an appreciation of science as a process of investigating and discovering natural relationships in the world. In the lab, students go beyond facts and rote memorization to applying knowledge as they debate and discuss relevant scientific, social, and political issues. The science curriculum actively promotes problem solving, developing qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills.
