Providence Artists’ Work on Display in Santa Barbara

May 22, 2017 by Elaine Rottman

Work by Providence’s talented student artists will be on display in two community venues this week.

The upper school student art show runs through May 25 at Christ Presbyterian Church (36 E. Victoria Street). An opening reception for these fine artists is Tuesday, May 23, 3:30 pm – 6 pm at the church. All are invited to enjoy appetizers and beverages while taking a look at the work produced in the classical art program under Mr. James Daly.

Providence artists take to the street over Memorial Day Weekend, as participants in the I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival at the Santa Barbara Mission. Chalk art drawing begins Saturday, May 27 at 9 am and continues throughout the weekend.

Lower school artists will produce a rippling American flag and the upper school artists, Emily Petersen and Natali Torres, will create a classical scene.

All are welcome and encouraged to show their support for Providence’s students by attending these free, community-wide events.
