Providence Presents: John Stonestreet on March 15

February 13, 2018 by Elaine Rottman

Providence has invited John Stonestreet of the Colson Center for Christian Worldview to speak on Thursday, March 15 at 8:15 am. The event is free and open to the public.

“We are delighted to present an honest, practical, and wise speaker on helping the next generation navigate today’s world,” says Dr. Scott Lisea, head of school at Providence.

“Our children deal with pressures that we never experienced nor could have anticipated. It is our job as parents and educators to help our children and students attain clarity and confidence in dealing with a culture that is dynamic and ever-changing,” he says, reflecting on the choice to bring John Stonestreet to Santa Barbara as a speaker.

Stonestreet is a respected authority on worldview, culture, and education. He co-hosts BreakPoint, a daily cultural commentary founded by the late Chuck Colson. His most recent book, A Practical Guide to Culture, guides parents and Christian leaders in helping young people influence culture, rather than letting the culture change them.

“Stonestreet’s story is that God’s story is bigger than this cultural moment,” according to Dr. Lisea. “That message aligns one hundred percent with the Providence mission. We are excited that Providence can bless the entire Santa Barbara community with this message.”

Providence Presents: John Stonestreet will be held at Emanuel Lutheran Church (3721 Modoc Road; adjacent to our Lower School Campus) on Thursday, March 15, at 8:15 am. This event is free and open to the community.

A coffee reception will be held at 9:15 am following the presentation. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Since space is limited, an RSVP by March 9 is required from those who wish to attend the reception. Please visit providencesb.org/stonestreet to learn more and to RSVP. (An RSVP is not required to hear the speaker at 8:15 am.)
