Providence Presents Opens with Paul Angone, Voice to and for Millennials

October 11, 2018 by Elaine Rottman

Paul Angone, former college (Westmont) and graduate school admissions counselor, best-selling author, and a corporate consultant with a masters degree in organizational leadership, opens the 2018-2019 Providence Presents season with a lively and insightful conversation on the questions students need to be asking themselves right now to understand their identity and calling and to be able to move confidently into college and far beyond.

Providence Presents invites the entire Santa Barbara community to engage in conversations around education and parenting. In this free event on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, Mr. Angone will address some of the key challenges facing today’s generation as the future of work rapidly changes. He promises to help students and their parents uncover and leverage what he calls their unique “Signature Sauce” —that personal combination of an individual’s “ingredients” that allows them to enjoy being successful. Parents who use strategic questions to help their children clarify and uncover their “Signature Sauce” help those same children celebrate and utilize their unique skills and values, instead of falling into the social media trap of what Angone has defined as our culture’s “Obsessive Comparison Disorder.”

Angone has spoken at schools and universities across the nation and has worked with companies such as Intel Security, Wells Fargo, and Aflac to help millennials and companies work better together. He has contributed to, and been featured in, numerous national publications, including Bloomberg, Business Insider, and the Chicago Tribune. Best-selling author Seth Godin describes Angone as “Like a wiser, funnier, older brother…Paul‘s been there, done that and wants to save you the pain and the trouble.”

Angone is a graduate of Westmont College and resides in Denver, Colorado.

Providence Presents: Paul Angone, takes place Wednesday, October 17, at 6:30 pm at Christ Presbyterian Church (Victoria and Anacapa Streets). Admission is free. All interested are welcome to attend.
