Providence Senior Thesis Project winners

Providence’s Senior Thesis project allows students to complete research under a faculty mentor on a topic of their choice. The program culminates with a final paper that is presented and defended before a faculty panel. The top three papers are then presented orally in an event open to the entire Santa Barbara community. The 2021 Senior Project Presentation will be a live webinar on May 17, 1:30 pm–2:45 pm (Register).

Senior Thesis Project director Mr. Chris Elwood announces the three presenters for 2021:

  • Olivia Bates – “The Importance of Monetary Discipline in Preserving the Dollar’s Reserve Currency Status”

  • Zak Lopez – “Physical and Psychological Effects of Youth Sports”

  • Nolan Lundgaard – “Fossil Fuels, Solar Panels, and the Future”

Mr. Soo Chang, head of school, congratulates all Providence seniors on “completing this capstone course and reaching this significant rite of passage.” And, he sends “a very special congratulations to our three finalists.”
