Celebrating the Class of 2020

The Providence School Class of 2020

The end of the school year is an exciting time to celebrate the successful completion of academic work and new adventures on the horizon. The entire Providence community enjoys this time of recognizing and honoring our seniors in particular. We applaud their growth and accomplishments as Providence graduates and send them off to colleges and universities across the country with prayers for God’s blessing and with our best wishes for continued success.

Celebrations look a little different in 2020, with stay-at-home orders to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in effect. Plans may change on short notice, based on government orders and public health recommendations. Please check back to this web page which will be updated frequently.

Commencement Ceremony In-Person Small Gathering

NEW DATE! Friday, June 12, 6 pm on the San Roque campus (3225 Calle Pinon)

Seniors should arrive dressed in cap and gown by 5:30 pm and meet in the courtyard between the school and the San Roque Catholic Church (accessed from Calle Cedro). Masks will be provided.

Two members of each senior’s family are welcome to attend this intimate, personalized celebration of the members of our Senior Class as they receive their diplomas and commence the next stage of their educations. Masks are required. Parking is available in the school lot, accessed from Calle Pinon. Seating is socially-distanced by family groups and is not reserved. Doors will open at 5:30 pm. Drinking fountains and bathrooms will not be available, per health department regulations.

A professional photographer will take photos of each senior and make them available in the next few weeks. The school will send out a link to a photo gallery, where photos may be viewed and downloaded without charge.

The ceremony will be available by live streaming for anyone who is interested in viewing (siblings, grandparents, friends). Livestreaming will begin at 6:00 pm PST via a Zoom webinar. Registration is not required to view it, but there is a password required to join the webinar. While we will do all that we can to ensure the live feed works, technology (as we all know) has potential glitches lurking at all times. Even if the livestream experiences issues, rest assured that a professional recording of the ceremony will also be available. Once the video is edited and uploaded, we will both send the link out to senior families.
