Convocation Service Opens Academic Year on August 20

Convocation (Latin for “calling together”) is a formal academic and spiritual service that officially launches the beginning of the Providence academic year. The 2019-2020 school year opening service will he held Tuesday, August 20, at 5:30 pm at San Roque Catholic Church, adjacent to our Preschool and Lower School campus at 3225 Calle Pinon.

During the 45-minute convocation service, representatives of the board of directors, the administration, the faculty, and high school student leaders will thank God for his providential care and ask for his blessing and guidance, while charging students to work diligently and to strive for excellence in the year ahead. They also will enjoy the pleasure of welcoming new students and families to the Providence community. Hearing short messages from three of our faculty members and our head student prefect is an inspiring, encouraging, and entertaining annual tradition. 

It is expected that all middle school and high school students and their families will attend the convocation. Students will process in to the ceremony and sit together in class groups. 

Any and all friends of Providence School are heartily welcome to attend this beautiful ceremony of dedication.

Parking is available in the adjacent Providence School lot and on neighborhood streets.

All Providence classes begin meeting Wednesday, August 21. Limited openings remain in just a few select grades. For more information, please contact the Office of Admission.
